Highway to History Bus Tour , Saturday May 15
The Bankhead Highway, Gibbins Ave., Highway 80, the Pike, State Highway 1, Division Street and World War II Veterans Memorial Highway are the many names of this historic highway. The past came alive on this special trip. Those attending experienced the excitement of thoroughbred racing at Arlington Downs, high rolled at the exclusive Top O’Hill Terrace, remembered dancing at the Midway Inn while discovering why the Bankhead Highway was called the “Broadway of America.”
